Verify the person
Check the member profile, how long the account has existed, and whether church affiliation is confirmed. Keep the conversation on the platform where it can be reviewed if something goes wrong.
Tour before you pay
See the room, the shared spaces, and the entrances in person or on a live video walkthrough. Ask to meet whoever else lives there. Never wire a deposit for a room you have not seen.
Read the terms that cost money
Lease length, deposit amount and return conditions, utilities responsibility, guest policy, and notice period. Get the deposit terms in writing and keep a receipt.
Document the move in
Photograph the room and shared areas on the day you arrive and send the photos to the host so the condition record is mutual.
